First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church

Welcome to Our Church

Our Vision
At First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church, we offer hope through service and the connections we share, we embrace the transforming power of awe, and we seek joy by living our values.

About Our Congregation
First Jefferson is a liberal religious community of diverse individuals. We nurture spiritual growth, encourage lifelong education, work for social justice, serve the larger community, and celebrate life's gifts together through meaningful worship. We welcome and support others in their expression of religious freedom.

Activities and Programs Overview
First Jefferson offers many opportunities for spiritual development, intellectual engagement, and for building connections with one another and with our community. Please see the calendar on our website, our Facebook page, and our Courier newsletter for additional information.

On every Sunday we offer:
Religious Education for Children and Youth / Child Care, 9:45 am, RE Wing Our religious education program for children and youth (CYRE) seeks to support parents and children in their spiritual quest through our classes, carefully selected curricula, social and service activities, and most of all by providing an atmosphere of both tolerance and questioning.

Adult Forum, 9:45am, Jaggers Parlor
Forum explores the world of social action, humanism, and current events through presentations and discussions.

Adventures in Religion, 9:45 am, Library
Adult religious education exploring world religions through readings and discussions.

Journeys 9:45am, Religious Education Office
Are you interested in connecting more deeply with folks at First Jefferson? Join us as we explore meaningful topics to deepen our own self-understanding and foster closeness and connectedness.

Worship Service, 11:00 am
Our service is similar in its overall structure to most church services. We have a choir, an offertory, and a call to worship. Our own minister, or a guest minister, usually delivers a 20 minute sermon. We sing hymns, share happy and sad events with one another, and announce upcoming events in the life of the congregation.
